Privacy Policy
Ride&Roam ("the app", "we", "us") is a ride-tracking app developed by Rakshit Tiwari in India. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email rakshittiwari02@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
- Profile information. The rider name (display name), city, state and country you enter on your profile. Until you change it, your rider name is set to the part of your email address before the "@".
- Ride data. When you start a ride, the app uses your device's precise location (GPS) to record your route as a series of map coordinates, along with distance, duration, speed, top speed and the ride's start and end times. Location is used only while a ride is being recorded.
- Technical data. When the app communicates with our servers, our hosting provider processes standard technical information such as IP address, device and operating system type and request times in server logs, for security and reliability.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, health data, payment information or advertising identifiers.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in.
- To record your rides and show your ride history, total distance and statistics.
- To build the city, state and global leaderboards.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, show ads or share your information with advertisers or data brokers. The app does not contain third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What other riders can see
Signed-in riders can see your rider name, city, state, country and total distance on the leaderboards. Your email address, your routes and your individual rides are private to your account.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication service. Your account, profile and ride data are stored on Supabase servers.
- Maps. Maps are displayed using Apple Maps on iOS and Google Maps on Android. To draw the map, these providers may receive information such as your IP address and the map area being displayed, under their own privacy policies.
If you use the app outside the country where these servers are located, your information will be transferred to and processed in that country.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app: open Profile and tap Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your profile and all of your rides. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing rakshittiwari02@gmail.com from the email address on your account. Server logs and backups kept by our hosting provider are removed automatically after a limited period.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile at any time in the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and data as described above.
- Location. You can allow or deny location access in your device settings. Rides cannot be recorded without location access.
- Other requests. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as receiving a copy of your data or objecting to how it is used. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Database access rules make sure each rider can read only their own rides. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Ride&Roam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and we will tell you in the app or on the App Store listing if the changes are significant.
